North Texas Children’s Chorale

100% of the North Texas Children’s Chorale singers who auditioned in September were just chosen as Fort Worth Opera production casts and alternates.
It was an exceptional honor since the casts are small in each production...no larger than 12 members per production.
Check out our website (northtexaschildrenschorale.com) calendar for all the performance dates. The three productions are Hansel and Gretel (in November), Porgy and Bess (at Bass Hall with the Fort Worth Symphony in April), and Companionship in May.
We could not have asked for a lovelier acoustic setting for our young musicians to be heard for auditions in than the Calvary sanctuary! Our young and fragile singers were able to be courageous in such a warm vocal venue!
The North Texas Children’s Chorale staff, singers and parents are very grateful for the gracious and generous gift of the Calvary campus for our rehearsals, voice lessons, performances, and auditions.
Our young musicians are from many races, religions, and cultures but they all share a love of music and the drive to achieve the higher standard of performance literature. Over 40% of our singers are on scholarship because they are in single parent families or are being raised by grandparents.
Viktor Andersson, Maureen Lester and I have worked very hard to honor the Calvary sponsorship by including every child of every economic status in our NTCC membership. We have bought choir uniforms for those who could not afford it and we have driven singers to rehearsals and from performances as needed.
The extensive care that we take to reach out into our community every season has resulted in performances at the Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy in Keller , an upcoming Advent performance at Christ the King in Colleyville, and the Fort Worth Opera auditions and production casts.
We also delivered over $1,500.00 worth of new blankets to give to patients of Cook’s Children’s Hospital this past June and plan to increase that amount of new blanket donations in June of 2019.
We hope that our appreciation for Calvary’s good faith hospitality continues to radiate out in the community and also to come back home to our church family.
Sincerely,
Lou Ann Fisher, NTCC Founder & Director
