N.E.E.D. will once again participate in North Texas Giving Day this fall. The date has just been announced for September 20. On this day, charities across North Texas call on their supporters to make a donation via www.northtexasgivingday.org. Donations made that day are then eligible for some matching funds. Last year N.E.E.D. collected over $3100 as a result of the effort. Mark your calendar to “Get Up and Give.” To learn more about North Texas Giving Day go to www.northtexasgivingday.org
GOD'S HEART, OUR HANDS
Day of Service - Sunday, September 9

Sunday September 9 is an opportunity to share love with our community in tangible ways.
We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work! On September 9, Calvary will be joining other Lutheran churches -- 4 million members, nearly 10,000 congregations, 65 synods and the church wide expression -- for a dedicated day of service.
You work every day to welcome your neighbors and make your community a better place. Now let's do it together as one body, using our hands to do God's work of restoring and reconciling communities in Jesus Christ’s name throughout the world.
We will gather together and go out to serve our community through a variety of service projects! This is open to EVERYONE-- families with young children, families with older children, singles, married couples, empty nesters, grandparents, everyone! e are working to provide meaningful service opportunities for the entire Calvary family. We are visioning the day to begin with worship at the 9:30 service and brunch/lunch. After lunch teams will be send out into the community to serve! Children will serve with their parents! This is a large undertaking so the sooner we know if you are interested, the easier it will be to plan, so please sign up now! More details will be available at the beginning of September when we have a headcount!

Columbarium Update
This summer Rick Miller has been working with Blake Kitch on architectural drawings for the columbarium cabinetry. Those drawings are complete. We should soon have renderings (photo-type image) of what the columbarium space would look like. We have been provided fixed costs for the niche construction and are working on getting bids for the wood cabinetry.Once all costs (niche + cabinertry) are determined, we will set the price for individuals to buy a niche. We thank you for your patience and hope to kickoff sales in September!

Noisy Offering

By supporting the program, we put our money towards Disaster Response, World Hunger, and the ELCA Fund for Leaders, to name a few. We’ll highlight a specific way this program works each month.
