Stop at the tables in the narthex the morning of April 29th to explore what interests you and learn how you can help. With God's help, we will grow in these and new ministries to reach those outside our walls.
El Chico Night - Monday, April 30
Join us for dinner at El Chico!
El Chico's will donate 20% from the evening to our Mission Trip this summer to do Hurricane Harvey Rebuilding. Please mark your calendars and invite your friends. It is a fun night out to see all of your church friends at the other tables. Thanks for your support of our kids serving others!
Sunday School Celebration • Sunday, May 6 • 9:30am – Noon
Sunday School families are invited to join us at Smith Barfield Park in Hurst (640 Pleasantview) on Sunday, May 6 from 9:30am - noon for a morning of games, playing with friends, celebrating our Sunday School year, outdoor worship service and lunch. There is a playground, open fields, covered pavilion, & restrooms. While there are some picnic tables, we ask that parents bring lawn chairs or blankets for worship. Please click here to RSVP
Calvary Day Camp & Disciple Camp - June 10-14
(Sunday - Thursday) 9:00am - 3:00p. Cost: $60 per camper (includes a shirt!)
For kids entering K-8th grade in the fall of 2018 . Registration is on a first come, first serve basis! Open registration is until March 1 and then registrations are accepted by class if space is available.
Day Camp: K- 5th graders participate in
Disciple Camp: 6th-8th graders who participate in service projects (limited to 22 registrations)

Calvary's Youth Busy Summer 2018 Plans
This is a year that the ELCA Youth from across the country gather to worship and serve together at the ELCA Youth Gathering. We will be there with 33 teenagers! Our kids know that there is still much rebuilding to be done after the hurricanes last summer and are also doing a mission trip this summer. This is in addition to what they are doing in the community and here at Calvary:
June 10‐14: Lead Calvary's Day Camp
June 23‐26: Mission Trip
June 27‐July2: ELCA Youth Gathering
July 8: Lead Calvary worship
August: Host Ft Worth Foster Family's Back to School Bash.
Workshop for Church Musicians - July 19-20

Practical workshops for all connected with church music or considering working in church music. New settings of compline and vespers introduced by composer Thomas Pavlechko. New handbell and choral music reading sessions. Hymn festival on new Opus 100 Redman 60 rank tracker organ. Using instruments in worship. Noisy Offering
With April's Noisy Offering, we are worshiping Cowboy style and eating BBQ!!! We can share the beef by putting our money towards a COW!!! Can we reach the $500.00 to purchase the entire cow?!! Just one dairy cow can produce as many as 3 gallons of milk each day.
The Second Sunday of the month, April 8th, is our Noisy Offering! You'll hear us coming!

Stephen Ministries
Calvary Lutheran Church trained their first Stephen Ministers in 1992 and Stephen Ministers have been serving our congregation and community for 25 years.This is a vital and thriving ministry at Calvary and we are here to help you or someone you may know walk through a difficult time, circumstance or situation. Confidentiality is one of the foundations of this ministry.

Fair Trade Store
Because of the craziness of construction, and slow summer months, I'm going to put a pause on Calvary's Fair Trade. We've been promised a permanent display "store" with the renovation, so we will re-open with Grandeur in the fall! I can't wait!
Kairos Prison Ministry
The Spring Kairos Prison Ministry team is gearing up for Weekend #43 at the Coffield Men's Prison Unit near Palestine, Texas. Weekend #43 will be held April 27 through April 30. In preparation, we will have team training meetings on March 18 and 25, April 8, 22 and 26. We are in search of new team members. We need men for the inside ministry and women for the outside support ministry. We would love to have more Calvary team members.

We are still collecting money for our military troops overseas. The big glass jar is sitting on the ledge near the Family Life Center entrance. All money collected goes to the American Bible Society. Thank you for your participation, Rosie Blackwell
Sandwich Making Anyone?
Come – Help Make Sandwiches! Have fun and fellowship serving the needy. Join the crew in Calvary’s kitchen on the 21st of each month to help make sandwiches for the homeless at the Presbyterian Night Shelter. The assembly line begins at noon!
Calvary Yoga
Calvary Yoga is on break for the month of April.
We'll reconvene Tuesday, May 1st at 10am in the Family Life Center (gym).

We have been serving dinner at PNS twice per month for almost 5 years and praise God for all the volunteers who have served. PNS is at capacity each night and we are serving 600 homeless, many of whom are our friends from RITI. Subsequently, we need 5 volunteers each time to meet the demand at PNS.
