High School Envelope Fundraiser
This summer Calvary Youth are joining Messiah Lutheran Youth (Fairview, OH) to help with Hurricane Rebuilding in the small Texas town of Refugio. Refugio is about 35 miles away from Port Aransas, where Category 4 Hurricane Harvey, with its 130-mph winds, rumbled ashore on August 25, 2017. Eight months later families are still rebuilding their little community. Neighbors helping neighbors and strangers lending a hand. Calvary and Messiah will come in as strangers to the people of Refugio, but leave as long distance neighbors. We will be doing an ENVELOPE FUNDRAISER in May to raise money to purchase building materials. At that time, you may select an envelope from the narthex and donate the amount listed on the envelope.
Memorial Day Remembrances
On Sunday, May 27th, we will remember & honor family members & friends who served their country in the military and have passed away. If you would like to remember someone, please fill out the sign-up sheet available at the narthex. Ministry Display Signs (available May 6th—23rd), or fill out the form online at bit.ly/MemorialDayRemembrances. The last day to sign up is May 23rd.
Please note: Veterans who are still living will be honored on Veterans Day in November.

The difference between this training and traditional training is it teaches kids realistic physical defense strategies to use in the event an abductor tries to kidnap them.

Calvary’s Social Ministries Committee has determined that for the year 2018, we can do the best in our world by giving our Noisy Offering collections to the ELCA Good Gifts Program. By supporting the program, we put our money towards Disaster Response, World Hunger, and the ELCA Fund for Leaders, to name a few. We’ll highlight a specific way this program works each month.
