Intern Molly Eversoll

Dear People of Calvary,

With great joy, I would like to accept the placement of internship at Calvary Lutheran Church, in Richland Hills, Texas. I am very excited to embark on this adventure and to have the privilege of spending a year learning and growing with the wonderful people of this congregation. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to meeting everyone at the beginning of September.

Here's a little information to introduce myself! I was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa and attended Luther College in Decorah, IA. At Luther I majored in English and Religion and I loved reading, writing, and learning about peoples' lives and experiences through my majors. I also enjoyed being involved in campus ministry and the small group outreach program at Luther. After I graduated, I did a year of service with Urban Servant Corps in Denver. I loved living in community and working at Denver Urban Ministries where I helped with their food pantry and ran an urban education program for youth to learn about homelessness, poverty, and to do service work. It was a challenging year of growth but held an abundance of blessings as well. After my year of service, I moved to Chicago to attend seminary at LSTC. I love the community, the faculty, and have especially enjoyed learning about the early church, the context of the gospels, and preaching.

In my free time, I enjoy going on adventures around Chicago with my friends, running, crocheting, cooking and baking, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with my family and boyfriend. I have one older sister, she is married to my awesome brother-in-law and I have three nephews who are 2, 7, and 11. They are a rambunctious group, but I love being a part of their lives as they are growing up. My mom lives with my sister and brother-in-law in Rockton, Illinois where my sister is also a pastor. My family loves cooking and sharing meals together and taking family vacations to Disney World. My boyfriend is graduating from LSTC in May and is being called to the bay area of California. I also have an aunt and uncle who live in Grapevine, Texas, Tim and Mary-Jo Tellin.

Over the coming year, I am looking forward to sharing in the lives of the people at Calvary, learning from you, and growing with you. I have enjoyed hearing the stories of the people and preaching at my ministry in context site in Chicago and I am excited about the opportunity to continue those aspects of ministry and so much more. I am excited about the vibrancy of Calvary, the wealth of knowledge and experiences that I know all of you will impart, experiencing new worship styles, learning more about youth ministry, growing into who I will be as a future pastor, and being in a new place full of new adventures, which will hopefully involve a good amount of Tex-Mex!

Thank you for the opportunity to be your intern and I hope that it will be a truly joyful year!

Blessings,

Molly Eversoll
