Social Ministries

Calvary’s Care Program was initiated a few years ago to engage in “Caring for One Another” by providing assistance to our members in need of a temporary helping hand in the event of an accident or illness. Since these are both things that generally happen without warning or a long term relief plan in place, the idea of the program is to have a list of volunteers able to help in the short term with everyday needs that are usually easy to deal with when we are well and able to get around, but not so much when we are sick or injured.

Some of the ways in which we might be able to help each other in such circumstances include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • lawn mowing
  • minor home repairs (including plumbing and electrical)
  • meals
  • transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store, or church.

The program has been inactive for a while, but we recently became aware that there is an interest in reviving it. However, we would first need to restock our pool of volunteers to assist with these types of tasks, and that is where you come in.

If you are willing and able to assist our members in need of a temporary helping hand, or if you have any questions, please contact either one of us or our program coordinator to let us know how you can help:
