Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 Calvary has a new program partnering with families to build faith foundations for their children. We know that the lives of families today are crazy and often each person is running a different direction. Thus, we are working to equip families by providing tools to help teach various biblical principals and Lutheran traditions to your children. We also want to help families to capture the “God moments” in everyday life.

SO WHAT IS THIS?

• Each week Sunday School children will receive a Faith & Family activity to take home. This is to help children share what they are learning and give families Faith Talk topics.
• There are a series of pins that the children can earn – similar to scout merit badges. The activities have been created to promote learning, caring conversations, service opportunities & establish rituals and traditions.

2011-2012 PINS

There are a series of pins that the children can earn – similar to scout merit badges. The activities have been created to promote learning, caring conversations, service opportunities & establish rituals and traditions. The 2011-2012 pins available are:Servie, Baptism, Choir, the Christmas Story, The Bible, Evangelism, Church Music and everyone received The Cross. Children will earn a pin when completing each of these and get to put a brick on the wall.

Each child will receive a small banner with their name on it to "store" the pins on.

Lori Carter is the person who is overseeing this program and she will be available each Sunday before and after Sunday School to help children select which pin to work on and to celebrate with them when they complete one!

Faith and Family Weekly Activity sheets

The weekly half-sheets that are coming home with your kids are optional weekly activities that you can complete as a family in support of the current unit on The Disciples. As mentioned in the overview of the BFF (Building Faith Foundations) program, these are supplemental activities that you can engage in with your kids to support what they are learning in Sunday School. If you miss a week - no worries! There will always be extra copies available to you on the main classroom hallway, second bulletin board on the left (marked Faith and Family), and they can be turned in when completed.

If your child brings back a completed and signed sheet, they can put it in the Faith and Family bucket during Sunday School openings. At the end of the unit the kids will earn a "brick" for the hallway if they completed all six weeks. In addition, all of the turned in Faith and Family sheets will be put in the blue bucket for some fun drawings for the kids
