In-Person Sanctuary Worship

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The church council has spent considerable time at every council meeting the past five months considering when and how to safely reopen the church. On Sunday, September 13, by a majority vote, the CLC council passed a resolution to reopen the sanctuary for in-person worship at the 10 AM service on September 20, 2020.

We will continue to live stream the 10 AM service and hold worship in the courtyard at 8:30 AM. All of the weekday online opportunities will continue to be offered.

Members who are immune compromised or in the most vulnerable age and health groups are encouraged to stay home and watch the live stream or attend the outdoor service.

Face masks are required to be worn at all times while in
the building when attending the 10 AM worship service.

  • We will be singing the liturgy and the hymns.
  • The 10 AM service will continue to alternate between the 8 / 11 and the 9:30 format. The September 20 service is the organ based liturgy.
  • There is no requirement to reserve a spot as our seating capacity allows for safe distancing. If it is necessary, we will have seating in the narthex.
  • A list of questions will be posted at the entrance. You must be able to answer “no” to all of them in order to attend.

Other safety precautions for indoor worship. We will…

  • Ask you to enter and exit through the east parking lot doors which will be propped open.
  • Print all hymns in the bulletin.
  • Place the offering plates at the doors of the sanctuary.
  • Have hand sanitizers at the entrance to the building.
  • Pass the peace with a wave or peace sign.
  • Use individual cups and wafers for communion. The Pastors will wash their hands during the offering and distribute the host. The individual cups will be in every other space of the tray and individuals will serve themselves. You will be ushered forward to maintain a safe distance.
Not have coffee or fellowship time in the narthex.
  • Dismiss by rows and ask that you leave the building. You can fellowship in the courtyard or parking lot.

Your church council is committed to keeping everyone safe while providing the opportunity for everyone to worship in the way they wish.

Grace and peace,
The CLC Council and Pastors
