Who We Are…North East Emergency Distribution (N.E.E.D.) is a Northeast Tarrant County faith-based non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide short-term emergency assistance of food, clothing and financial support. North East Emergency Distribution is a community supported non-profit agency. We are blessed by support from area churches, individuals, businesses, grants and proceeds from our Twice Blessed Resale Shop.

NEED Website
N.E.E.D. has a web site, www.need-tarrant.com, that you need to check out. The site provides up-to-date information about N.E.E.D. The site was professionally done by IMMOTION Studios with funds from a Tool Box Grant that N.E.E.D. received. Check it out.

TWICE BLESSED
Here is another way to help N.E.E.D. Have you shopped at “Twice Blessed?” N.E.E.D. operates the Twice Blessed retail store at 424 Bedford Euless Road in Hurst. This retail outlet features a wide selection of pre-owned and pampered merchandise. Proceeds help fund N.E.E.D. operations.

CLOTHING DONATIONS
Do you have clothing and other items that you would normally take to Goodwill? If so, you could bring it to the church and put in the N.E.E.D. container in the hallway across from the mailboxes. If you have furniture that you want to donate you can take it to Twice Blessed in Hurst.

FILL THOSE GROCERY SACKS
The “N.E.E.D. grocery cart” at Calvary has sacks that you can pick up and bring back full of donated items. Specific requested items are listed below. And, as always, monetary donations are greatly appreciated (check payable to Calvary Lutheran Church and in the memo section write N.E.E.D.)—

  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Spaghetti
  • Canned tuna
  • Sugar
  • Flour

NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY!
N.E.E.D. will once again participate in North Texas Giving Day this fall. The date has just been announced for September 20th. On this day, charities across North Texas call on their supporters to make a donation via www.northtexasgivingday.org. Donations made that day are then eligible for some matching funds. Last year N.E.E.D. collected over $3100 as a result of the effort. Mark your calendar to “Get Up and Give.” To learn more about North Texas Giving Day go to www.northtexasgivingday.org.
