WHO WE ARE…
North East Emergency Distribution (NEED) is a Northeast Tarrant County faith-based non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide short-term emergency assistance of food, clothing and financial support to those in need.

THE CHRISTMAS SEASON is almost here and many North East Tarrant County families will go without food for the holidays. So if you can, please see what you can do to help at this Christmas Season by donating food to the Needy. Pick up a sack out of the N.E.E.D. grocery cart and bring it back to the church full of canned goods. Donations of cash are welcome too! Make check out to N.E.E.D. and leave it in Ken Laursen’s mail box at the church.

CLOTHING ITEMS NEEDED N.E.E.D. is preparing its clothing inventory for the winter months, and is in great need of the following items: Heavy winter coats, men’s clothing, and heavy blankets. If you are able to make a new or gently used donation, you are welcome to drop them off at either N.E.E.D. location, or in the NEED donation box, which is across from the member mailboxes.

ITEMS NEEDED for the shelves at N.E.E.D. at this time are:

  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruit
  • canned soup
  • jelly
  • peanut butter
  • laundry soap
  • tea
  • coffee

MONETARY DONATIONS As always, monetary donations are greatly appreciated (check payable to Calvary Lutheran Church and in the memo line section write N.E.E.D.).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED If you are interested in volunteering at N.E.E.D. we could put you to work. We can use help in the clothing department, the pantry and help picking up donations at Wal-Mart and Kroger’s. If you are interested please call Ken Laursen at 817-899-6518 or send an e-mail to kwlaursen@msn.com.
