Calvary’s social ministries are where we put “God’s heart, human hands” to work serving our community. If you are interested in helping with any of the ministries listed below, please contact the church office at 817.284.8724
Room in the Inn
We host 10 homeless men on Tuesday nights during the hottest and the coldest months of each year (July- August, December-February). We enjoy a meal together, play games, socialize, and connect with our guests as friends. Our guests receive a warm bed, a hot meal, a listening ear, and genuine hospitality. We receive new relationships, widened perspective, and full hearts. Our guests come to us through the Day Resource Center. All potential guests are screened to ensure the safety of all involved in the ministry.

Noisy Offering
Calvary’s Social Ministries Committee has determined that for the year 2018, we can do the best in our world by giving our Noisy Offering collections to the ELCA Good Gifts Program. By supporting the program, we put our money towards Disaster Response, World Hunger, and the ELCA Fund for Leaders, to name a few. We’ll highlight a specific way this program works each month.
We support the Foster in Texas Program that is part of Upbring. Our main projects include our Back-to-School Bash and our Christmas Party for Foster Families

The Women of ELCA
These women have made hundreds of quilts to contribute to Lutheran World Relief efforts, assembled personal care kits for LWR, filled backpacks with school supplies, and made stockings to support the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. This is one productive group!

The Social Ministry committee helps ensure that these groups have what they need to continue their good works, recruit new volunteers to these activities, and also look for new opportunities for Calvary members to contribute to the community. We meet the 1st Monday of every month at 6pm in the Library, and are always happy to have new faces and new ideas.
